Since 2016 Helen has managed NIAB's analytical services and NIAB LabTest which provides a laboratory based testing service for agricultural and horticultural industries. Her main areas of work include seed pathology testing for seed-borne disease, soil testing for nematodes and potato virus testing. Biochemical quality traits, including VCU testing, in cereals and oilseeds, such as specific weight, protein, Hagburg Falling Number, malting, oil content and erucic acid content. Also included is variety identification of cereals and potatoes.
